Create a Little Free Library Scavenger Hunt
If you like literacy and trivia, you might want to host a scavenger hunt with Little Free Libraries (LFL) in your area. With over 125K in 112 countries, LFLs are ideal for a scavenger hunt for all ages. Most look like mini houses or boxes while some can get to be quite unusual. Hide something in one (or better yet multiple libraries) and give people clues to find them. Contact the library owners to get them involved. None in your area…why not start one? Find kits you can buy or you can DIY with your own creative flare. A great project for a scout troop, neighborhood, or small group.
Over 60 cities have had coordinated LFL hunts since 2021! It’s worth noting, that some of the options below are more time consuming but if you are a person who is tech savvy, loves organizing events and connecting with your community, this could be the activity for you!
For a simple version - you can let people pick up a 1 pg Nature Scavenger Hunt, Dragon Trivia worksheet or Fairy and Gnome Trivia worksheet at your LFL. You can also just have a Little Free Library Social like they do in the San Francisco Bay Area to bring your community together.
For a few LFL stops - If you want a slightly larger event, encourage people to look for different types of books at different LFLs, or pick up something like inspirational rocks at different locations.
For a networked hunt with clues and a theme - you can choose Fairies, Gnomes , Nocturnal Creatures or the NEW DRAGON CLUES. Here is a guide to using Canva Templates so you can edit documents.
